On the morning of September 9, 2026, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, presided—alongside his Slovak counterpart, Mr. Juraj Blanár—over the official inauguration ceremony of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Algiers.
The opening of the Slovak Embassy in Algiers marks a significant milestone in the development of relations between the two countries. It follows the opening of Algeria’s embassy in the Slovak Republic in December 2025, reflecting the shared commitment of Algeria and Slovakia to strengthening their mutual diplomatic presence, intensifying institutional engagement, and opening new avenues for bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
On this occasion, the Minister of State delivered an address praising the depth of relations between Algeria and Slovakia. He emphasized that enhancing mutual diplomatic representation would contribute to consolidating political dialogue, facilitating communication between various institutions and economic actors, encouraging joint initiatives, and fostering closer ties between the Algerian and Slovak peoples.
