Mr. Attaf received his Egyptian counterpart

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr.Ahmed Attaf received Wednesday, at the ministry’s headquarters, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptians Abroad of the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr.Badr Abdelatty, who is on an official visit to Algeria.

The two ministers held private talks, which were followed by an expanded meeting with the participation of members of both countries’ delegations.

The meeting provided an opportunity to conduct an in-depth assessment of the various dimensions of the longstanding relations of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries.

This comes amid the positive momentum these relations have seen in recent years, aligning with the high directives of the two countries’ leaders, the President Mr.Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, the President Mr.Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.           

The two ministers also discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation ahead of the 9th High Joint Committee, which is scheduled to be held in Cairo.

The ministers further addressed the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.    

They applauded both countries’ efforts in defense of the Palestinian cause, highlighting the important role Algeria plays within the Security Council and Egypt’s appreciated endeavors to hold an international conference for reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

The two parties also exchanged views and analyses on several current issues at the Arab and African levels, foremost among them the situation in Libya and Sudan, as well as developments in the Sahel-Saharan region.
